Update
Thank you for your support. The NIRI-Seattle Chapter would like to provide an update on what we've been up to recently.  The last 3 months have been active - we've seen a lot of new faces at our events – it’s great to see the energy continuing to grow with new people in attendance and strength from senior professionals in the industry. That said, we know not everyone has been able to attend every event.  Not as a replacement for being in person, but to help continue to add value for our membership, we thought it might be helpful to summarize some of our recent activities. We've also posted materials at
http://www.niriseattle.org/ChapterMeetingContent.

We recently sent out emails with a personalized link to a two-minute Survey Monkey for chapter members to seek nominations for 2014/2015 chapter officers.  You can also indicate your interest in volunteering to assist in chapter activities and committees.

Upcoming Events
In March, Dr. Frank Hatheway, NASDAQ’s Chief Economist, presented at the University of Washington (see video here:http://www.niriseattle.org/ChapterMeetingContent) covering the economy and how to position companies in that context.  We did this event in conjunction with the University of Washington's Foster School of Business.

In April, we had a first of its kind event with Wilson, Sonsini, Goodrich and Rosati at their downtown Seattle offices - Spring Training for Investor Relations: Avoiding Unforced Errors in Corporate Disclosure. WSGR discussed trends in recent shareholder litigation and how to reduce the risk of litigation on your company (see slides here:http://www.niriseattle.org/ChapterMeetingContent).

In May, we hosted attendees (35 strong!) at the Top of the WAC to hear NIRI’s president and CEO Jeff Morgan (see slides here:http://www.niriseattle.org/ChapterMeetingContent).  Jeff provided us with an update from Washington D.C. on Dodd-Frank, the SEC's agenda, the general political environment and an update on NIRI's near and long-term strategic plan.
Please join us on June 17th for our annual Summer Social at Safeco Field for a Mariners game.  We have a private suite reserved to enjoy what is hopefully a beautiful afternoon game vs. the San Diego Padres.
